something i've thought for quite sometime now

in other words i agree with the below:

not to mention all the "wars"

debacle

jim lehrer kept trying to get the canidates to address each other directly tonight, which i liked. knock the fucking wall down and have some intercourse. you know, simple shit, like refer to the other in second person. obama got the point and addressed mccain directly. i don't think mccain ever even looked at barack. he stared straight ahead with that creepy fucking grin.

that being said, nothing new was said tonight and both candidates avoided hard questions. big whoop.

maybe the vp debates will be eventful.

politics

as far as i can tell when the republicans took the white house and congress:

{} - the economy was in good shape

{} - now the economy sucks (though it's not the only reason, we (taxpayers) do spend $9 Billion a month in Iraq)
-----------------------------------------------

{} - we were in a fair state of peace

{} - we have the worst attack and loss of civilian life on our soil since WWII (for which we had no real response. the taliban has not been defeated nor have the masterminds been apprehended)

-----------------------------------------------

{} - we had a decent foreign policy

{} - now we're in two wars, one that is absolutely pointless (save for the contracts going to the certain interests to manage the war, which, does not benefit me at all)

-----------------------------------------------

NOW.... i understand that you can't blame everything on the GOP. they were elected, and they were not the only ones in washington for the past 8 years.

BUT

for me, there is no way i can sit here and act like all that shit didn't happen. i'm not saying barack has all the answers, but at this point we have to give him a shot. to continue down the same path in the executive is not sensible. now if shit does not improve in his first term, that would lead me to believe that the system that is the federal government is broken.

i hope that's not the case

p.s. john mccain is old as hell. his vp choice still has children who are in her care. now i'm not saying a woman who has had children should not be in the executive branch, but come on. shouldn't they at least be school age or something? if shit goes down for real, and one of her youngest children gets ill, i'd be a little concerned that it would be a huge distraction. and rightly so.
